Alpha - Alphas are usually the leading wolves in a pack, typically pair bonded, in this instance there doesn't have to be two active alphas. These leaders will take interest in pack activities, such as hunting, and being at the ready if orders need to be made under reasonable circumstances. The alphas are the most dominant over the pack and unless told otherwise by an alpha, are always the first to eat after a hunt.
Beta- There can be up to two betas in a pack. The betas are the second in command of the alpha, which means if the alphas have become absent, the betas will take charge until they have returned, however being a beta also means obliging to orders will be much stricter for them, as to keep them on their paws and constantly active. Up until the day the alpha(s) pass into the spirit world, the betas will be in training to become the new leading alpha.
Epsilon - Epsilon are in a way, guardians for the pack. It is their job to ward off any predatory animals opposed to the canis lupus. The ones with this rank would have formally been a warrior(eta), war general(zeta) or a medic(lota). It is up to them to decide how to deal with an encounter with a rogue. They shall only resolve to violence if a peaceful approach fails.
Zeta - Ones assigned to this role are the war generals of the pack, typically only 1 zeta will be active at a time but if the pack becomes well populated then there will be up to 3 zetas allowed. The alphas will be left to declare war if need be, but zetas are the ones who will lead the warriors into battle.
Eta - Eta are the warriors of the pack, if war persues upon the pack, they will be lead by the epsilon or zeta who will be receiving orders from the current alphas.
Delta - (Deltas are very conflictive ranks when it comes to Rps, I decided that delta ranks will be:) Accounted for taking messages and in ways will be spies. Under strict orders from the alphas will they only try and sneak into another packs camp.
Theta - Theta are the lead healers/medics of the pack, they specialise in herbology and have a great mind for panicked situations. In this pack, only 1 theta role will be assigned by the alphas. The theta may only choose up to two others, perhaps aspiring to be a theta/iota.
Iota - Iota ranks will be assigned by the lead medic(theta). Medics will be working with the lead medics, making sure medical supplies are kept at a reasonable amount, and will often accompany a theta.
Gamma - Gamma are typically the elders of a pack, in this instance, gammas will only be assigned to wolves of the ages 6+.
Phi - These wolves are pup-sitters of the pack, their jobs are to teach the youth and act as a carer for the pup(s) left to them by the parent(s). If a pup at the paws of a Phi goes missing or has ended up deceased under non tolerated situations, consequences will be left to be decide by the alphas and the parents of the pup(s).
Psi - Psi are the subordinates of the pack, this rank is often given to new members or those who have just graduated from puphood. They must prove themselves to the pack as much they can otherwise will be lowered to an omega rank.
Pups/Juveniles - Pups are all characters under the age of 1, they are given no specific ranks and are not required to join the hunting parties until over the age of 1 to live out as much of their puphood as possible. Once they have reached the age of 2, they will be considered juveniles and will be able to tag along to hunting parties for observations.
Omega - In a pack, the omega rank is the lowest rank that could possibly be earned. The omegas more so get treated the worst, any rank higher then an omega can treat them as poorly as they please with no penalty from the alphas or betas. The omegas job is to submissive to the rest of the pack, all the while being playful and goofing off.
_____
Rogues - Rogues are not considered to be apart of the pack, they live unpresent from any being of their own kind aside from themselves. Wolves often become one after they have dispersed from their birth pack in seek of their own adventures and with an intent to begin their own pack.
